The Newton Performing Arts Center (formerly Newton-Conover Auditorium) offers several unique spaces that organizations and members of the public can rent for a wide range of events such as dance recitals, pageants, musicals, play productions, pageants, holiday parties, weddings, baby showers, bridal showers, birthday parties, corporate events...the list goes on! 

The Abernethy Auditorium is a  504 seat auditorium equipped with wireless Internet, in-house sound, two comfortably appointed dressing rooms, computerized ticketing, state of the art LED lighting, full size movie screen and projector system. Our stage curtains have been replaced as of summer 2021. We are now offering live streaming to rentals! The auditorium is available to rent any  day of the week and includes the reservation of the McCreary Modern  Gallery.

The McCreary Modern Gallery is a spacious gallery that can comfortably hold 100 to 150 people, depending on your event. The walls of the gallery are specifically designed to display unique artwork  and also provides wireless internet access. This space is available to rent seven days a week.

Our two upstairs Studios are perfect for smaller gatherings, dance or exercise classes, or meeting space. These fit 20-30 people. Approximate size for each is 30 x 22 feet. 

Rental Dates are only held AFTER a deposit and Rental Application are accepted by our office. We will not hold a date under any circumstances until the deposit ($250) is received. Rentals seeking our non-profit rate must provide our office with a copy of the letter your organization has received from the IRS stating your non-profit status and id number. Non-profit rates are not available without this information.
