The NewArt School of Music is comprised of individual studios that emphasize the art of piano, guitar, flute, voice, violin, ukulele, viola, and cello. Each instructor comes to the NewArt School of Music with solid backgrounds in their instrument and provides a customized private lesson to suit the needs of each individual student. The NewArt School cultivates creativity and enriches the community by offering quality visual, performing, and cultural arts education for all ages and abilities.

Mrs. Weldon received her Bachelor of Music degree from East Carolina University with concentrations in Music Education and Piano Pedagogy, and her Master of Music Degree from Western Carolina University. While at Western, she completed Orff Schulwerk Levels I and II. As an adjunct faculty member of Catawba Valley Community College, Mrs. Weldon teaches piano, voice, woodwinds, and music appreciation. She also directs the renaissance recorder ensemble. Mrs. Weldon has taught band, chorus and elementary music in the public schools. Her sacred music experience includes directing church choirs, handbells, and serving as a guest clinician for workshops. She has written materials for use with young children using Orff techniques.
